Yamaha to Auction Colin Edwards’ Gear for Charity

Cypress, CA - July 2, 2008 - Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S. will once again offer an incredible opportunity to bid for a set of riding gear worn by Colin Edwards at this year's upcoming MotoGP at Laguna Seca. The gear will be presented, in person, by the "Texas Tornado" himself at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix. All monies raised will benefit the Joe Parkhurst Memorial Scholarship Fund, a motorcycle industry-based effort to honor the founder of Cycle World Magazine and support the scholarship program of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. All proceeds from the auction will be used to provide an avenue to a higher education for survivors of childhood brain tumors.

The Colin Edwards package includes a full set of gear worn by the American during the weekend, including Spidi leathers, his Arai Helmet, and Sidi boots and gloves.

This package will also include a pair of weekend three-day general admission passes to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, July 18-20, 2008 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and a pair of passes to an exclusive Team party on Friday evening the 18th.

The winning bidder will be invited on stage during Saturday ceremonies to receive their personally autographed gear directly from the Texas Tornado himself, Colin Edwards.

The auction will be conducted on eBay starting Friday, July 4 and continuing until 12 noon Pacific, Sunday, July 13.

Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary Parade Route

Harley-Davidson has announced the route for their 105th Anniversary Parade, called the Harley-Davidson Parade of MDA Heroes in Milwaukee on Saturday, August 30, 2008. The parade starts at 9 a.m., leaving from Miller Park. The public viewing area begins at 35th Street and Wisconsin Avenue. The parade proceeds east on Wisconsin Avenue, then turns South on Milwaukee Street, then east on Erie Street. The parade concludes at the parking area for the Henry Meier Festival Park.

The 105 top fundraisers for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) from around the U.S. will lead the parade of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. To be a lead rider in the parade, riders must have raised at least $6,400 for MDA prior to the August 1, 2008 deadline. The minimum fund raising amount of $6,400 will send eight kids to MDA Summer Camp. Tony Shields, Harley-Davidson Manager of Community Relations said, "the 105th Anniversary Parade is a unique chance for the family of Harley-Davidson customers, dealers, suppliers, employees and sponsors to celebrate the excitement of 105 years of Harley-Davidson and at the same time help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association." Williamsport motorcycle dealer hosts ride for girl with brain cancer

WILLIAMSPORT — Sporting white, pink and sparkling gold Hannah Montana sneakers, a left leg brace and an orange do-rag, 8-year-old Brittany Weese strode up to the side car of a Harley-Davidson Road Glide on Saturday and hopped in, claiming her title as grand marshal of Brittany’s Ride.

“I think it’s going to be fun,” Brittany said. “I get to ride on a motorcycle I haven’t been on. I’m excited.”

As the Road Glide began to roll, Brittany let out a whoop and holler while onlookers applauded.

Organizers of “Troop Ride” Hope to Brighten Soldiers’ Lives – Horseheads, NY

Motorcycle Ride for Dad raises awareness

Legend of the Motorycle Star-Studded

The Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d'Elegance was held in Half Moon Bay, California May 3rd and 4th and the featured manufacturers were Norton and MV Agusta. Jesse James, Paul Cox and Billy Lane rolled out their newset custom bikes at the event. Other motorcycle legends were in attendance as well.

A private pre-Concours ride with World Champions Agostini and Read and senior executives from MV Agusta and other motorcycle manufacturers kicked-off in Los Angeles with a private tour of Jay Leno's garage before arriving in Half Moon Bay.

Riding Into History returns to St. Augustine

Riding Into History, one of America's premier motorcycle events, will return to the World Golf Village near St. Augustine, Florida on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Couple Auctioning Custom Chopper For Hokie Fund

STAFFORD, Va. -- Homer Wright and his fiancée, Deborah Raymond, are out to dispel stereotypes, and help the Virginia Tech Hokie Spirit Memorial Fund in the process.

"We're not your average motorcycle people," Wright said. "Our new slogan is 'Building Bikes and Lives."'

The couple, who own Milwaukee Iron II in Myrtle Beach, S.C., are donating proceeds from a custom-built motorcycle to the university and victims of the April 16 killings.
