The man in black, Kenny Coolbeth, won his second AMA Flat Track Twins Championship in a row before a packed house on Saturday at the Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville.

The Harley-Davidson Factory-backed Coolbeth once again led all 25 laps of the main event, holding off Joe Kopp and his Screamin' Eagle/Latus Harley-Davidson backed XR-750.

There is AMA Pre-Season flat track action in Missouri this weekend, if you can make it, go out and watch the Hot Shoe racers:

Some of the top motorcycle riders in the country will speed into LA Raceway on Saturday night.

“It’s not a Grand National event. ... but it gets a lot of guys on the track for the first time,” race promoter Rick Yeager said of the American Motorcyclist Association Preseason Opener.

The race returns to Pettis County for the 13th time. The series raced at Sedalia until 2006 when the races shifted to LA Raceway....

AMA Racing announced today that two new events have been added to the 2008 AMA Flat Track Championship schedule. For the first time, Grove City, Ohio (July 11-12), and Billings, Mont. (Aug. 2) will each host a race.
