The funeral of a racing motorcyclist who died after a crash at Brands Hatch has taken place.

Honda rider Craig Jones, 23, of Peterborough, suffered head injuries in the British leg of the World Supersport Championship on 3 August.

He was transferred to the Royal London Hospital by Kent Air Ambulance but died in the early hours of 4 August.

Australian MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner romped to his second win in a week at the Dutch Grand Prix on Saturday while Spain's Dani Pedrosa seized the overall lead from Valentino Rossi.

Ducati's Stoner, runaway winner at Donington Park in Britain last Sunday, was again in a race of his own at the Assen circuit as he powered from pole position to his third victory of the season.

Guy Martin's 2008 Isle of Man TT Races campaign ended on a disappointing note on Friday when he was forced to retire from the Senior race, the Blue Riband event of the festival. The blowback from the effort to transform the AMA Superbike series has begun in earnest. In a nutshell, two of the AMA series' stalwart riders have made their opinions known-- Honda rider Josh Hayes (who actually doesn't have a Superbike ride) in his hometown newspaper and Suzuki's Mat Mladin from the podium at Infineon a weekend ago.
