Already Anstey has chalked up a win at the Isle of Man TT this season and was "robbed" of victory in another race where he had passed the finishing post in first place...

Disappointment for Martin in Senior TT

June 11th, 2008 · Comments Off · TT News

Guy Martin's 2008 Isle of Man TT Races campaign ended on a disappointing note on Friday when he was forced to retire from the Senior race, the Blue Riband event of the festival. The Kirmington ace was involved in a titanic battle for the lead during the first two laps but as he left the pits after the first refuelling stop, he encountered mechanical problems and his race was over.

With ideal racing conditions on the Island, Guy set off at his customary number 1 position on the Hydrex Bike Animal Honda and at the first...

Excellent day for Shand in Monday’s TT races

June 6th, 2008 · Comments Off · TT News

Les Shand had an excellent day of racing at the Isle of Man on Monday, finishing 11th in the Superstock TT and 16th in the first Supersport race to earn himself two more silver replicas. The Superstock result was his best ever finish at the Isle of Man and he put in a total of 4 120mph+ laps during the two races to continue his great week.

In the morning's Superstock race, Les was aboard the Leeds Parcel Company R1 Yamaha and an opening lap of 120.915mph saw him lie in 18th place. However, an excellent second lap enabled him to jump up the order and, with a superb pit stop, and a final lap of 123.920mph, Les completed the four lap race in a brilliant 11th for his highest finish at the TT.

Obituary: Robert Dunlop – motorcycle road racing champion

May 26th, 2008 · Comments Off · News, TT News

The death of Robert Dunlop in practice for the North West 200 is a grievous blow for motorcycle road racing, the variant of the sport that takes place on closed public roads – as opposed to purpose-built tracks known as short circuits.

Although the Isle of Man TT is the best-known road race, the NW200, which takes place on a high-speed nine-mile triangle linking Portrush, Coleraine and Portstewart, attracts what is arguably a better entry, as well as Northern Ireland's biggest ...

The complete guide to The Isle of Man

May 11th, 2008 · Comments Off · TT News

Elements of its two main towns, Douglas and Ramsey, notably the number of failed shops and businesses, suggest that the world has...
