The great majority of helmet graphics worn at VIR this weekend are painted at any one of about a dozen high-end studios located across...

Les Shand had an excellent day of racing at the Isle of Man on Monday, finishing 11th in the Superstock TT and 16th in the first Supersport race to earn himself two more silver replicas. The Superstock result was his best ever finish at the Isle of Man and he put in a total of 4 120mph+ laps during the two races to continue his great week.
In the morning's Superstock race, Les was aboard the Leeds Parcel Company R1 Yamaha and an opening lap of 120.915mph saw him lie in 18th place. However, an excellent second lap enabled him to jump up the order and, with a superb pit stop, and a final lap of 123.920mph, Les completed the four lap race in a brilliant 11th for his highest finish at the TT.

The blowback from the effort to transform the AMA Superbike series has begun in earnest. In a nutshell, two of the AMA series' stalwart riders have made their opinions known-- Honda rider Josh Hayes (who actually doesn't have a Superbike ride) in his hometown newspaper and Suzuki's Mat Mladin from the podium at Infineon a weekend ago. Both strongly condemned the Daytona Motorsports Group(DMG)approach in apocalyptic terms...

And, ultimately, that's why DMG's disfiguration of AMA Superbike racing will eventually fail, if it is not critically...

Next year, though, things figure to be a little more wide open.
The Daytona Motorsports Group, which bought the AMA's promotional and management rights in March, is proposing radical changes to the circuit in an effort to create greater parity and a more entertaining product that appeals to a wider audience...
